Our smaller maltipoo dog requires diapers and washing them is a real pain. When I saw this scbestuygo mini-washer, I thought I’d see if it would help simplify the process.The best thing about a mini-washer is that it allows keeping soiled clothes segregated for the rest of the wash. This fulfilled that requirement well with the advantage of the washing portion is separate and removable from power base which comes in handy when the battery runs low during a cycle. In that case it is easy to remove the base and take it to charge while leaving the filled washer in a safe location to avoid spills in the main house (we keep the dog laundry outside).To be clear this really isn’t a “Mini Washing Machine” rather it is a pseudo-mini-washer that is effectively limited to delicate and ultralight items. The agitator is a disk at the bottom with some ridges which rotates in one direction for about 20-30 seconds and the abruptly reverses direction for a similar amount of time. It really is not strong enough for most regular wash and larger items. In our case only one small dog diaper can be washed at a time. Putting in two caused both diapers to stop moving due to resistance from the sides and therefore the liquid could not circulate, hence both items came out unwashed. With more delicate items such as underwear and socks with softer fabrics I think it would allow washing several items at a time. However, something more substantial such as a medium padded or underwire bra with associated metal/plastic components may be too much.The key to this washer’s use & functionality is to initially monitor the washing and make sure the item(s) are free to move and the wash liquid can freely circulate around whatever is put in. The clear washing container is very important in that regard. Kudos to scbestuygo for making that decision.Note this washer is not automatic. That is the user needs to run the items through either the 5 or15 minute cycle with water and detergent. When that’s done it must be manually drained and fresh water added with another cycle for “rinse.” There is no spin. Items are removed after this rinse to drip dry or wrung out and allowed to air dry.A feature that that would have been nice to provide is having two or three agitation settings. I understand the low setting used is needed to avoid excessive battery drain on the road but including one or two more vigorous settings wired to only work while plugged in would be a major improvement and allow washing a wider range of items sans the portability.In the end I was conflicted about whether to rate as four or five stars. It really comes down to the intended use. For delicate and ultralight items, it is a great tool to have available, so five stars. Because of the clear container, one can see that, combined with good detergent, it really is effective at removing/suspending whatever soiled the items. For heavier items I’d reduce it to four stars until a more substantial agitation feature is added.
Easy to charge. Has a nice handle for carrying to fill with water. Very compact. No leakage. All of the pieces are in the box, and there are directions. The machine is easy to turn on, has a digital timer clocking the cycle and turns itself off at the end. It is also quite small, so very portable, and easy to use for traveling.As a washer, however, I wanted more. There is no spin cycle, there is no dry cycle, and the water does drain out, which I guess is good for delicate clothes. I first tried a pair of socks. I put in quite a minimal amount of soap. At the end, the wet socks were sudsy, needed rinsing, and will need to dry for a bit. They were blue. They smelled fresh, but I couldn't tell exactly what the washer did.A heavy wash of a white piece of lingerie was more informative because the water was dirtier at the end. There was still soap that shows in the picture. Since the water doesn't drain out, the soap doesn't either.The directions suggest that there are measurements on the side of the wash bowl. My item did not have any.
This little washing machine has been a surprisingly useful tool! It’s compact, lightweight, and perfect for travel, apartments, or even quick washes at home. I tested it on delicate underwear, socks, and a small shirt, and it cleaned them much better than I expected. Great small washing machine. I tried to wash underwears, I putted 4, I think it could fit 8. It is time saving, I don't want go back handwash anymore. I think it is good to wash dirty towels, too. Maybe should get another one, one for clean, one for dirty.
